1950 - The Morris Brothers Began Building Pleasure Boats

Morris Brothers began building pleasure boats for the Bryant Company in Seattle. Several different models carrying the Bryant label were produced over the years. These boats were “sleek, fast, fun, and best of all, affordable” and helped launch a small power boat craze during the post-war years.

A Morris Boat built for the Bryant brand is seen here on shore in the Puget Sound.

A freshly painted Morris Boat is set to dry in front of their warehouse on 14th Street Dock.

The stairs from the waterfront to Grand Avenue appear in the background. In the foreground, sporty Morris-built Bryant boats are ready to be trucked to Seattle
