1956 - Main Hulbert Sawmill Engulfed in Flames

Main Hulbert sawmill engulfed in flames on August 3, 1956 (fire swept up the bluff and threatened the houses on Grand Avenue).

Fires crippled some of the major mills on the North Waterfront. The most spectacular blaze occurred on August 2, 1956 that destroyed the William Hulbert Mill Company. Two Everett firemen, a volunteer and two mill employees were injured in the blaze.
